NEUROVENTURE CHALLENGE

Loyola students will design a product or service inspired by the latest advancements in neuroscience.

The challenge is to harness insights from brain science to create innovative solutions that push the boundaries of design while adhering to ethical principles.

The challenge asks Loyola students to develop a product or service that integrates neuroscience research to enhance user experience, functionality, or effectiveness. Your design should be informed by how the brain processes information, makes decisions, and interacts with technology.

Key Components:

  • Neuroscience Integration: Utilize neuroscience concepts such as cognitive processes, sensory perception, or neural mechanisms to inform your design. Show how these insights improve the user experience or solve a specific problem.

  • Ethical Considerations: Address ethical implications related to your design, such as user privacy, mental well-being, and the potential impact on behavior. Ensure your solution promotes positive outcomes and respects ethical standards.

  • Prototype Development: Create a prototype or detailed mockup of your product or service. Demonstrate how neuroscience has influenced its design and functionality.

  • Presentation: Prepare a compelling presentation that includes your design concept, the neuroscience principles applied, and the ethical considerations addressed. Share your prototype and explain how it meets the challenge criteria.

How to Participate:

  1. Register: Sign up for the challenge and receive all necessary details.

  2. Submit: Complete your design and submit your prototype along with a detailed explanation.

  3. Pitch: Present your design to our panel of judges and showcase your work.

No previous knowledge is necessary! Participants will receive guidance, resources, and expert mentorship throughout the challenge to shape their ideas into viable products or services.

Prizes:

Students will compete for scholarship awards and Ignite Lab guidance.

The first-place pitch will take home $1200

The second-place pitch will take home $800
