Michael Gargiulo, Founder of Custom QR Cards (acquired 7/2022)

My name is Michael, and I am graduating in May from business school, majoring in Supply Chain Management and Entrepreneurship.

I founded Custom QR Cards, which was acquired in July 2022. I am currently researching new problems/venture ideas.

I started the entrepreneurial track by gaining an understanding of myself, for which I have always had an appetite for risk-taking and believing I can do whatever I set my mind to. What inspires me the most is my great grandparents coming from Italy as immigrants. To me, their journey was the most significant risk my family took. It inspires me to take risks and understand that living in the United States is an entrepreneurial opportunity.

One highlight of how Loyola helped me in my entrepreneurial journey was expanding my real-life business experience by allowing me to participate in the Quinlan Ramble in March 2022. We visited startups and Fortune 500 companies on the trip and networked with Loyola Alumni.

My advice to current students/aspiring entrepreneurs is to start a business idea today if you have one. At this age, you have limited responsibility, and being at Loyola, you have resources you can rely on. Understand there is no cookie-cutter approach to starting a business; everyone has their puzzle.
